Wheel Escapes
Introducing Our Sister Site – Wheel Escapes
I’m excited to introduce Wheel Escapes, the sister site to Disability Uncensored, which I have created and run
alongside my husband. Wheel Escapes is an accessible travel platform where we share our honest, first-hand
experiences of holidays, cruises, hotels, attractions and days out — all from a disabled traveller’s point of view.
We know how difficult it can be to find genuine, useful information about accessibility before booking a trip.
That’s why Wheel Escapes is about sharing what accessibility is really like, rather than simply repeating
what travel providers tell us. Wheel Escapes is completely independent. We do not receive payment or
sponsorship for our reviews, meaning our experiences and opinions are our own. From accessible cabins and
hotel rooms to attractions, transport and days out, we’re putting our experiences out there to help other disabled
travellers make more informed choices. Disability Uncensored is where I speak up about disability. Wheel Escapes
is where my husband and I put accessible travel to the test. Come and discover our new sister site:
Wheel Escapes – Accessible Travel Deserves The Truth
Who Are Wheel Escapes?
Wheel Escapes is run by a disabled husband-and-wife team who know first-hand how stressful, exhausting, and uncertain travel can be when accessibility isn’t taken seriously. We share honest, real-world reviews of holidays, cruises, hotels, attractions, and days out, all from the perspective of disabled travellers who actually rely on access being right.
Wheel Escapes focuses on real accessibility — not marketing promises. Every review is based on their own experiences as disabled travellers, covering practical details that matter, such as step-free access, mobility aid suitability, transport, accommodation layouts, and how inclusive a destination truly is.
Wheel Escapes are completely independent. They do not receive payment or sponsorship for their reviews unless they explicitly state otherwise. They fund their own trips, travel as regular guests, and film during their own holidays before editing everything at home. “This allows us to provide unbiased, trustworthy content without pressure from brands or tourism boards.”
Wheel Escapes exists to help disabled people, wheelchair users, and those with access needs travel with confidence. Whether you’re planning a cruise, a city break, or a day out closer to home, Wheel Escapes’ goal is simple: to give you the information they wish they’d had before travelling.
Honest. Independent. Accessible travel — as it really is.
